The Supreme Court serves the student body and Student Government by helping to correct violations of the Student Government Constitution and Student Government Code by hearing cases. Muhammad Hanzala, Chief Justice

Muhammad Hanzala is a senior at Texas State University, majoring in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, with a minor in Biochemistry and pre-med studies. Originally from Georgia, Muhammad is a passionate servant-leader dedicated to making a lasting impact on the Texas State student body. He is a published researcher with a focus on advancing scientific knowledge and aspires to become a surgeon, with plans to specialize in neuro-oncology.

In addition to his role as Chief Justice, Muhammad actively engages in service and leadership through Bobcat Leadership and Service. He is also an active member of the Honor's Code Council. He serves as an Instructional Assistant for virology and microbiology, helping students excel in complex scientific subjects, and is also a proud member of the Microbiology Club. His passion for biology extends beyond the classroom—he is frequently found on the Quad, sharing his knowledge and inspiring others to appreciate the wonders of science. His commitment to service, leadership, and education reflects his dedication to enhancing the Texas State community and beyond

Muhammad's hobbies include being an avid Formula 1 fan, drinking coffee, going on hikes, exploring national parks, and reading. 

Priyanka Karki, Associate Justice

Priyanka Karki is a sophomore at Texas State University majoring in Computer Science. On campus, she is actively involved in student leadership and professional organizations. She currently serves as the treasurer for the Society of Women Engineers and as an Associate Justice for Student Government. Before this role, she was the chair member of the Student Government Election Board and initially joined as a freshman council member.

In addition to her academics, she is engaged in CS research and works as a Quality Assurance student worker. This summer, she is excited to join Amazon in Bellevue as an SDE intern, a role she is still wrapping her head around but eagerly anticipates.

Vincent Nguyen, Associate Justice

Vincent Nguyen is a first-generation American and college student who transferred from a community college to Texas State University. He is majoring in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, pursuing a career as a doctor. In preparation for medical school, he works as a clinical technician at an ophthalmology clinic on weekends. Additionally, he serves as a Genetics Instructional Assistant throughout the semester. Passionate about leadership and service, he actively leads Bobcat Break trips, Texas State’s alternative break program, and is a member of the Honor Code Council. Vincent chose Texas State for its diverse community of first-generation and transfer students. In his free time, you can often find him lounging at a coffee shop, browsing vinyl stores, or simply enjoying the company of his friends at Alkek Library

Elliott Downey is a first-year student at Texas State University, double majoring in Spanish and Psychology. He is a member of the Honors College, President's Leadership Class, and Honors Code Council. He is honored to serve as one of the Texas State Supreme Court Justices.

Diego Hernandez, Associate Justice

Diego Hernandez-Barcenas is a junior at Texas State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology with minors in Pre-Med and Biochemistry. He is a member of the Honors College and has been recognized on the COSE Dean’s List for his academic accomplishments. Additionally, he is a member of a research laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Du, where he is involved in neuroblastoma research.

He has also volunteered in various hospital settings, providing direct patient care, and is actively pursuing his Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification to enhance his clinical experience. Diego is deeply committed to the Bobcat community and values his involvement with other students.
